Paul Wong is the Chief of the Planning Division at the Department of Beaches and Harbors. Previously he served as the Chief of the Asset Management Division. He is responsible for helping to ensure the second generation redevelopment projects, as envisioned in the County’s Marina del Rey Asset Management Strategy, are completed so the Marina can remain a relevant regional destination and the County’s stream of income is secure and growing. His next major challenge is to oversee the visioning process to redevelop and reposition the Marina over the next 40 years.
Paul is a longtime Los Angeles County employee with over 29 years of experience in various County Departments, including the Departments of Public Works and Health Services. He has extensive experience in real estate planning and development in both public and private sectors. His real estate experience includes planning, entitlement and construction of single family and estate homes, income properties, commercial properties and public facilities such as beach maintenance yards and lifeguard headquarters.
Paul received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Master of Business Administration in Finance, both from California State University, Los Angeles. Paul is currently on a mission to education all his friends, and those who come into his life, to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. He encourages people to join him on weekend hiking excursions to explore the nature; strengthening their health and sharpening their minds.
