Tom Tindall was appointed Director, Internal Services Department on September 24, 2008. Prior to his appointment, Tom was ISD’s Chief Deputy Director. He was appointed to that position on February 26, 2006. Prior to that, he was ISD’s General Manager, Facilities Operations Service. He served in that position from June 4, 2001. On that date, Tom returned to L.A. County employment after serving as Assistant Vice President, California State University, Northridge, where he was responsible for the campus’ facilities operations, capital construction, and earthquake reconstruction programs.
Tom served 21 years in the U.S. Army and had tours of duty in Europe, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean, and numerous locations within the United States. Following his military service and prior to working at Northridge, he worked for L.A. County with both the Internal Services and Public Works Departments. His education includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master’s degree from Ohio State University. He is a licensed engineer.
