LACAAEA's Meet & Greet / Installation Dinner, April 7, 2011
Tracy Wu from the Probation Department sings the National Anthem at the beginning of the program on the stage at the Meet & Greet Reception / 2011 - 2012 Installation Dinner at the Ocean Star Seafood Restaurant, Monterey Park, CA on April 7, 2011. Liren Zhang (DPSS) plays a four-stringed lute called the "Pipa". It is one of the oldest Chinese musical instruments with over 2000 years of history. Contemporary musicians hold the Pipa vertically in the lap, plucking the strings with both hands using plectra (picks) on the fingernails. Brittany Tran, a pianist since the age of six, and a recently self-taught amateur guitarist, is singing "What's Up?" by 4 Non Blondes at the Meet & Greet / 2011 - 2012 Installation Dinner in Monterey Park, April 7, 2011.
