Richard J. Bruckner began his tenure as Director of the Department of Regional Planning on February 1, 2010. Mr. Bruckner has spent the last 10 years with the City of Pasadena as Director of the Planning & Development Department. Prior to Pasadena, he has also worked as the Deputy Executive Director for the City of Anaheim’s Community Development Department and as a Principal Planner for the City of Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency.
Mr. Bruckner is a member of the American Planning Association and Urban Land Institute, and serves as the President of the California Redevelopment Association Board of Directors.
Mr. Bruckner received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies from Hartwick College, New York, and his Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Ohio State University.
