On May 15, 2009, California State Governor Arnold Schwazenegger sent a Proclamation to congratulate the Los Angles County Asian American Employees Association and proclaim May 2009, as "Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month.". Click here for the Proclamation.

On May 20, 2009, California State Controller John Chiang sent a warm congratulations to the Los Angles County Asian American Employees Association in celebration of Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month. Karen Chang, Special Assistant to John Chiang, presented a scroll to LACAAEA President Irene Hamada for LACAAEA as one of the premier Asian Pacific Islander American employee associations.
