Richard Sanchez is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the County of Los Angeles responsible for setting standards and direction on Information Technology (IT), providing guidance and advice on IT activities to the Board of Supervisors, CEO and to County departments.
Mr. Sanchez is a long-term employee with for over thirty-five years of service to Los Angeles County. His county career began with the Data Processing Department which merged with the Internal Services Department where he became a member of the Information Technology Services (ISD/ITS) organization.
Rich has held numerous senior IT management positions for over 26 years. Prior to being appointed to CIO he was the General Manager for the ISD’s Information Technology Services with responsibilities for directing application development, computing infrastructure and communication (voice and data) services to County departments.
Mr. Sanchez is married and has a son and daughter. When away from work he enjoys his family, reading, walking, jogging and sports in general.
